My game is way too hard, so instead of making the enemies harder I wanted to add more ways for you to fight them. In this video I added new defenses and weapons as well as made some other necessary updates.

I'm not new to programming (I worked for 15 years with unrelated programming languages) and I ventured a little on Gamemaker. I wanted something where I could pop up little projects and play around with them in order to learn

    hey man, huge job at both your game and videos!!, keep up the big work!! :D I just wanted to point out really quick though, that your mic quality is not the best :(, so I wanted to let you know that there's a completely free and quick solution to that, there's this thing called adobe podcast, I don't want to go too deep into it, so basically they have this tool called enhance, which is an AI audio enhancer available for free with a limit of 1 hour of audio per day, which I'll guess is more than enough for your videos, so I extremely suggest you checking it out bc it really does wonders!! :D

    Really good concepts, trust me, but I sicererly think that this game might need a full graphics overhaul: the colors and the contrast between them hurt the eyes and the model of the robot feels off. I'm following this series since the beginning so don't treat this comment as a judgement but as a constructive criticism. :)

    you could use the extra time between rounds as another "currency" to slightly heal for each second you had left or something that rewards the player for managing their time. time is a resource so important in this type of game that skipping and throwing it away can feel weird

    Maybe a stationary, rolled up hose which you can go to and grab for spraying enemies that get near. Kinda like a turret that the player can man. Being stationary allows you to make it strong and feel satisfyingly powerful, yet not be overpowered, since you cannot take it with you.

    Idea 1: Add a friend robot that helps you collect scraps and other things(Optional). If any enemies are near it, it will attack but its pretty weak(Value: 100-200 scrap metal) idea 2: Add a Big Robot, yes. with booty chee- ANYWAY, it will have a lot of health and it will be hard for the enemies to defeat him!(Value: 400-450 scrap metal) Ideas for enemies: Idea 1: Add a ultimate boss, that will appear through stages 10-20. It will have a lot of health and special move with a big sword(WHOOSH!). Idea 2: A mini Enemy robot, with more intelligence and speed than the normal robots. But less health.

  • @nemeides
    @nemeides 10 днів тому

    Idea: Robot dog. You can buy/craft a robot dog. It can be set to follow mode or to guard mode. In guard mode it attacks all mobs in a specific area. If not in guard mode it follows you around and attacks enemies near you. You could make that some enemies are afraid of the robot dog and try to run from it. That would make possible to split off large enemy waves because some of them will try to move away from the dog and try other ways to get to the house. Robot dog passive: every 30 seconds during a wave it will take a shit on the current position. Enemies running over it will slip and not move for a few seconds. Afterwards they are slowed for some extra seconds. With a shovel you can move the dump to a place of your desire. The robot dog needs to be charged.

    Just ask chatgpt hes got the ideas Sure, here are some creative defense ideas using common farm elements with a twist: 1. **Hay Bale Catapult**: Launches heavy hay bales at incoming enemies, crushing them on impact. 2. **Tractor Turret**: A tractor equipped with rotating turrets that shoot corn cobs or explosive pumpkins. 3. **Automated Pitchfork Launcher**: Fires pitchforks at high speed to impale and eliminate enemies. 4. **Chicken Coop Bombers**: Chickens with tiny explosive vests that fly up and dive-bomb enemies. 5. **Electrified Fencing**: High-voltage fences that electrocute any enemy attempting to cross. 6. **Barn Door Guillotine**: Heavy barn doors rigged to drop like guillotines on unsuspecting foes. 7. **Beehive Grenades**: Tossable beehives that explode into a swarm of angry bees, attacking enemies. 8. **Milk Sprayer Cannon**: Fires high-pressure streams of milk to knock back and stun enemies. 9. **Rotating Scarecrow Blades**: Scarecrows with rotating, scythe-like arms that slice through enemies. 10. **Pumpkin Bombs**: Pumpkins filled with explosive material that detonate upon enemy contact. 11. **Irrigation System Flamethrower**: Uses the farm's irrigation system to spray flammable liquid and ignite it, creating a wall of fire. 12. **Mole Minefields**: Moles that dig underground and create explosive traps for enemies. 13. **Sheep Stampede**: A herd of aggressive sheep that charge and trample enemies. 14. **Silo Missile Launcher**: Grain silos modified to launch large, explosive grain missiles. 15. **Cornfield Camouflage**: A defense mechanism where enemies are lured into a cornfield maze filled with hidden traps and pitfalls. 16. **Razor Wire Vines**: Enhanced vines that entangle and cut enemies as they try to pass. 17. **Watermelon Cannons**: Launches large watermelons at high speeds to crush enemies. 18. **Guard Dog Kennels**: Release trained guard dogs to chase down and attack intruders. 19. **Windmill Blades**: Modified windmill with sharp, spinning blades to slice through enemy ranks. 20. **Farm Animal Patrols**: Cows or pigs fitted with armor and horns, charging at enemies to gore or trample them. These ideas mix the charm and familiarity of a farm with inventive, and sometimes humorous, defensive mechanisms to protect the farmhouse in your game.

    integration of systems is good it gives player incentive to do and use a feature, instead of forcing them to like the scrap attack another example would be if back when u had the farm, if the crops are not only needed for objective (feels forced), but u could also sacrifice them (eat) to heal, this gives player an incentive, but there is probably already another healing system in place (i forgor), also robots cant eat (unless?) if u just keep adding systems without integration or incentives, that s just feature creep

    You've been a huge inspiration for me, I started developing a point and click detective game last week because of your tips and I still can't believe I was even able to finish the main menu, an introduction, and a system for the clues already. I don't have any experience with game develpment except for watching videos and one tutorial for gamemaker I watched last tuesday. I've had multiple ideas for games, and your tips really pushed me to finally do one. It's very simple and the art takes me forever to do, but I keep feeling great for being able to put it into my silly game. Even though it's simple and it took me a lot of time to figure out simple interactions, having a game that anybody could play once I'm done is such a great motivation. Hope you have a great week. Idea 1: a wasp nest has a chance to spawn on the house or in a tree and whatever gets close to it gets hurt a little bit. Idea 2: some sort of other scarecrow or something that would trick the robots into attacking it. It would attack them when they attack it but it's mostly for delaying them attacking you and the house. Idea 3: you could buy seeds for a bush that would slowly grow but once it grows it will slow down enemies that walk through it

    • @Theuniversearch
      @Theuniversearch 11 днів тому

      Even just removing the firepower from the scarecrow to act like your second idea would be pretty neat. OR maybe scarecrows deter enemies from wanting to walk within an aura around it? Something that helps you create some sort of choke point if used properly. Hey, maybe crops could be added to the game, allowing the player to generate additional currency. And scarecrows are vital in order to stop the enemies from destroying all the crops.
